Presented is a unique, vintage pair of sterling silver candlestick holders made by Frank M. Whiting around the mid 1900s. Each candlestick holder is done in an ornate nautilus sea shell, almost cornucopia form on a ruffled or rounded panel base. The shells are detailed and done in a sinuous form. The cylindrical candle holding portion in the inside of each shell is deep, so the candlesticks are very secure when inserted. This pair has never been monogrammed.
The underside of each piece is marked for Frank M. Whiting and sterling silver purity.
This set is in excellent overall condition. There is minimal surface wear and no damages or repairs.
Each piece measures 2 7/8 inches by 3 1/2 inches and is 3 1/2 inches tall.
