Presented is a beautiful vintage earring and brooch set, in sterling silver and
abalone. The set is of Mexican make and dates to around the 1950s. The set is
made in a charming butterfly design, with the butterflies wings set with panels
of color abalone. The pin has a rollover style clasp, while the earrings have
screw style backs, suitable for pierced or unpierced ears.
The set is in great condition. The pin clasp functions well and closes
securely. The abalone is all intact. No breaks and no repairs.
Each piece is stamped sterling, 925, Mexico, and a maker's mark.
The pin measures about 2 5/8 by 2 ¼ inches. Each earring measures about 7/8
of an inch by ¾ of an inch.
The total weight for the set is 18.7 grams.
