VTG 1940s Italian Silver Hand Chased Footed Oval Serving Dish Tray 10" X 12.5"

Presented is a wonderful Italian 800 silver serving dish. This piece was likely made in the 1930s-1960s. The dish is done in an oval form, with fluting around the interior sides. At intervals around the side are separately cast and applied flowers and finely hand chased foliate designs. The rim has scrolled and beaded designs, and a textured finish border. The dish stands on four pawlike feet, with detailed foliate designs where the legs join the underside. All the decoration is very detailed and well done, making this a very eye-catching piece.

This piece is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

The dish is stamped 800 for the purity of the silver and an Italian government registered maker's mark that is unfortunately too obscured to read.

The dish measures about 12 1/2 by 10 by 2 inches, LxWxH.

The dish weighs 494 grams or 17.4 regular ounces.
