Vintage Taxco Mexican Sterling Silver Black Stone Dome Cufflinks
Regular price
$86.00
Presented is a vintage pair of Mexican sterling silver and black stone cufflinks. These cufflinks were made in Taxco around the 1950s, and are signed with a maker's mark of FRA. The cufflinks are round, each flush set with some sort of black stone. The stone is opaque, but has a subtle chatoyance, the cat's eye effect for which stones like tiger's eye are prized; indeed this may be some related species of quartz, or just very carefully chosen tiger's eye. The toggle backs are secure and work well.
One cufflink bears a maker's mark, Taxco and sterling.
This set is in excellent overall condition. There is a tiny chip to the stone on one cufflink, but this is only noticeable upon very close inspection.
Each top measures 7/8 of an inch in diameter.
There is approximately 5/8 of an inch in between each top and the toggle back.
Weight: 12 grams.
