Presented is a fabulous sterling silver and multi gemstone inlay pin in the shape of a roadrunner. This is a vintage old pawn piece of silver and inlay work, in a classical Zuni design. The bird is done in an attractively stylized form, inlaid with a variety of colored stones and materials: turquoise, coral, mother-of-pearl, onyx, cowrie shell, horn, and a lovely lavender colored shell I can't identify. This is the nicest example of the Zuni roadrunner design that I
have seen, better quality than the similar pieces I found in my research. The back of the pin has a rollover style safety clasp.

The pin is in great condition. The inlay is all intact. The clasp functions well and closes securely. There are no breaks and no repairs.
The pin is not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be sterling silver.
The pin measures about 2 3/4 inches by 1 3/4 inches.
The pin weighs 13 grams.
