Presented is a fine quality Russian silver pierced server. This piece is quite unusual form for this pattern. It is probably a tomato server or a pastry server, although it could be used for many other things. The server is monogrammed with initials ES.
The server is hallmarked on the reverse of the blade with the Russian kokoshnik mark used before 1908 and the maker's mark AB in Cyrillic letters for Alexei Baranov. This piece is 875 purity silver.
The condition is excellent. There are no dents, no dings, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The server is 6 1/2 inches long.
The weight is 51.3 grams or 1.81 ounces.
