Vintage c1945 Art Moderne 14k Gold Garnet Floral Brooch Pin

Offered in this sale is a really fine 14K gold and garnet brooch from the 1940's
or early 50's. This heavily made gold brooch is a modern take on a flower form,
the center stone surrounded by curved gold "petals", which is in turn surrounded
by a ring of garnets, with a final row of gold balls between the outer stones.
This piece has deeper color in person and the photographs don't capture the
quality of the stones well. 

The setting is heavily and beautifully crafted, with all surfaces and joints
finely finished, and with added loops at top and bottom to keep the pin from
flopping over. The stones are of absolutely the finest quality, beautifully cut,
and the epitome of "garnet red". 

Marks: Stamped 14K, and signed with a maker's mark of VA(?) 

Dimensions: 1 ¼ inch diameter 

Weight: 13.3 grams.

Condition: Excellent, with some very slight surface wear on the petals, but
no other wear, damage or repairs.
