Presented is a fine quality, heavy weight sterling silver gravy ladle made by S. Kirk & Son. The ladle is done in the Repoussé pattern which was first produced in 1828. The back of the handle is engraved with AW in block script and the date 1940 below.
The ladle is marked on the reverse with S. Kirk & Son Inc. for the maker, Sterling, and Shreve, Crump & Low for the retailer. This maker’s mark was used from 1925 and 1932.
The condition is excellent. The pattern is very sharp and crisp. There are no dents, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The ladle is 6 1/4 inches long.
The weight is 49.2 grams or 1.7 ounces.
