Presented is a completely hand wrought, sterling silver bowl or serving dish made by Frederick J.R. Gyllenberg & Alfred H. Swanson of Boston, Massachusetts during the first quarter of the 1900s. This hand hammered piece is done very much in the Arts & Crafts form of the time. The sides are lobed and the underside has a slight hammered finish. This piece has never been monogrammed. The bowl is a good weight for its size.
The underside is marked with Frederick Gyllenberg's hallmark and sterling. There is also a mark for Afred H. Swanson.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. There is some surface wear commensurate with age and use but there are no damages and no repairs.
The bowl measures 9 1/8 inches in diameter and is 1 3/8 inches tall.
Weight: 431 grams.
