Presented is a fabulous quality English sterling silver salad serving set. This set dates to 1953 and was made by Wakely & Wheeler. The set is done in an elegant yet simple style, with a bright silver finish throughout. Each handle terminates in a decorative fluted finial. The bowl of the spoon and the tines of the fork both have the crowned profile of Queen Elizabeth II in honor of her coronation, in the year of 1953. Use these pieces together as a salad serving set or separately for whatever serving purpose you like.
Each piece is in excellent overall condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
Each piece is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, the date letter S for 1953, and the maker's mark for Wakely & Wheeler.
The fork and spoon are each about 8 7/8 inches long.
