Presented is a fine 14K gold and ruby pin made by B. A. Ballou & Company of Providence, Rhode Island. The pin is done in the form of a leaf. It has an elegant openwork design with realistic texturing on the gold. The pin is prong set with a small ruby. The pin was probably made in the 1950s through the early 1970s.
The pin is marked on the reverse with 14K and a maker’s mark of B.A.B. for Ballou & Company. We have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14K gold.
The condition is excellent. The ruby is securely prong set. There are no chips, no cracks, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The pin is 5/8 inch wide and 2 1/4 inches long.
The weight is 5.9 grams.
