Presented is an appealing 14 karat gold and garnet brooch or pin made during the 1850s or 1860s. This 19th century Victorian piece is done in an openwork form and is designed with finely textured fruit decorations. The center is securely set with a deep red garnet cabochon. The pin still has its original C style clasp.
This piece has been tested with nitric acid and is guaranteed to be 14 karat gold purity.
This piece is in excellent overall condition, especially for its age. There are some incredibly minor surface abrasions to the garnet gemstone but they are only visible when viewing the piece under magnification. There are no damages and no repairs.
The pin measures 1 1/2 inches long and weighs 11.7 grams.
