Victorian 10K Gold Engraved Harbor Scene Disk Earrings
Regular price
$324.00
Presented is a fantastic pair of Victorian 10k gold disk earrings. The earrings
are decorated to resemble a window pane scene, overlooking a seaside church.
The architecture of the church looks Spanish colonial, but we are not sure.
Please make your own determinations. A sailboat is seen just off the coast, and
a seabird flies overhead. This engraving is very high quality, minute, detailed
and fabulous. The other windowpanes are decorated with pretty floral designs.
The earrings are for pierced ears. These earrings were made in America between
the 1840s-1880s.
The earrings themselves are unmarked. We have tested them with nitric acid
and guarantee both to be 10K gold. One earring back is solid 14K, and the other
is gold filled.
The condition is excellent. There is a little gold tarnish on the backs of
the earrings, which is visible in the last photo. This is minor, is not
noticeable when worn, and is from a time when the earrings had a different
mechanism for being worn on the back. There are no breaks, no cracks, no
splits, no dents and no repairs.
The earrings measure about 7/8 inches in diameter.
The weight is 5.1 grams.
