Unique Whiting Louis XV Ebony Handle & Sterling Silver Serving Spoon

Presented is an interesting, sterling silver and ebony wood serving spoon made by the Whiting Manufacturing Company during the late 1800s. Although the spoon has a wooden handle, you can see the bottom portion of the handle has the Louis XV pattern scroll work. The Louis XV pattern was patented in 1891 and this is an old production piece. The bowl has a monogram of the initials LEB.
The back of the bowl is marked with the Whiting hallmark, sterling and patent 1891.
This piece is in excellent condition for its age. There are no dents, no breaks, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The server measures 11 1/2 inches long.
