Presented is a unique pair of 22 karat yellow gold and granite earrings by Sam Shaw. Each earring is set with a piece of speckled granite, naturally variegated in white, black, gray, and an almost peach buff color. The settings are done in a wide design around the bezel holding the granite, with a handwrought look and light-catching textured finish. Very artistic and striking design utilizing an unusual but meaningful material, by a well known and very collectible name in the jewelry world. The backs are omega style clipbacks, with posts for wear with pierced ears, but your local jeweler could easily convert them for wear with unpierced ears by removing the posts.
These earrings stamped with the maker's mark for Sam Shaw as well as 14k and 22k. The earrings are 22k gold with 14 karat gold posts, nitric acid tested and guaranteed.
This pair of earrings is in excellent condition. The granite is well set and intact. The clipbacks have a good strong spring mechanism.
