Tiffany Co Sterling Silver Oval Serving Dish and Tray Fargo Family Monogram
Regular price
$2,430.00
Presented is a handsome pair of Tiffany & Co sterling silver serving pieces. An oval tray and a serving entree or vegetable dish. Both pieces displays a fancy beaded and Greek key border.
Both pieces have been monogrammed “Fargo”. The tray has the monogram in the center, while the dish is monogrammed on the external side. On one side, there is a large cartouche that has been monogrammed “Fargo”. These two pieces belonged to William Fargo's family. He started the stagecoach company, and later Wells Fargo Bank.
The underside of each piece is marked sterling along with the maker's mark for Tiffany & Co and the pattern numbers 358 and 865. Based on the pattern numbers, the pieces were almost certainly produced between 1856-1859.
This pair is in fair to good overall condition. The tray has significant knife marks throughout the piece, which makes the monogram less visible. The dish has multiple small dents around the bottom edge. The largest dent has been identified in the photos.
