Superb Victorian 18K Gold Red Burgundy & Black Enamel Floral Wreath Pin c1850s
Regular price
$468.00
Presented is an interesting, 18 karat yellow gold and enameled Victorian pin from the 1850s to 70s. The pin is in a dome form with a hole in the middle that could easily be set with a pearl or stone. There is no evidence that anything has ever been set in the middle and the pin appears to be all original. The sides are enameled dark red and black and have cut gold flowers engraved into it. There is a black enamel border along the rim.
Although this piece is not marked, it has been tested with nitric acid and is guaranteed to be 18 karat purity. American pieces of this age were virtually never hallmarked.
This piece is in excellent condition. There is one chip to the red enamel. This is visible in the first photo at the four o'clock position. The chip is quite small and very hard to notice. There are no dents, no breaks, no chips to the enamel and no repairs.
