Superb Tiffany Co Gilt Sterling Silver Gold Vermeil Pierced Rim Basket Bowl

Presented is a lovely antique Tiffany & Co gilt sterling silver basket or bowl, dating to 1907-1947. The piece consists of a wide, shallow bowl with a decoratively pierced rim and an upright basket style handle. The entirety of the piece has a rich gold wash, very bright and eye catching. Really a very attractive piece. This piece is stamped with the Tiffany & Co maker's mark, sterling, and the initial 'm' for the director of the company between 1907-1947, John C. Moore II. This piece is in great overall condition. The underside has spots of wear to the gold wash, but these can only be seen by turning the piece over. The gold wash is otherwise in good shape with only very minor wear. The center of the bowl has some surface abrasions and a small ding. There are no splits, no serious dents, no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs. The basket measures about 9 1/2 inches in diameter and stands about 6 inches to the top of the handle, or about 2 inches to the rim. This piece weighs 521 grams or 18.4 regular ounces. -jm
