Regular price
$437.00
Presented is a lovely set of 9 antique American coin silver teaspoons, done in the Basket of Flowers pattern, dating to circa 1825-1841. The spoons are made in a classic style, with shoulders above the bowl, a shell design to the back of the bowl, and a fiddle head shaped handle. The ends of the handles are beautifully decorated with a design of a basket of fruit and flowers, hence the name of this pattern. Eight of the spoons have a monogram of MOB in flowing script, while the remaining spoon has a monogram in the same style but reading MAN.
Each spoon is stamped with the maker's mark of New York silversmith George C. Howe, except for the one with the different monogram.
This set of spoons is in excellent condition. The details of the design are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
Each spoon measures about 6 1/8 inches long.
The total weight for the set is 183 grams or 6.5 regular ounces. -jm
