Presented is a fine set of 12 Shiebler sterling silver dinner forks. These forks are done in the elegant Corinthian pattern, which officially began production in 1874, designed by John Polhamus circa 1855. The pattern features classical shell and floral designs on the handles. The backs of the handles are monogrammed with the name Anna, eight have it in Gothic font and four have it in script.

The forks are in great condition. The details of the pattern are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

The forks are stamped with the Shiebler maker's mark as well as sterling, and patent. Eight of the forks have the retail for W. M. & J.B. Mayo while the remaining four have no retail mark. Two of the forks also have a 'J.P. patent' mark, presumably for John Polhamus, the designer of the pattern.

Each fork is about 7 3/4 inches long.

This set weighs 640 grams or 22.6 regular ounces total. -jm
