Presented is a lovely Victorian 14 karat gold and enamel pin or brooch. This piece dates to around the 1880s-1890s, and is of American make. The pin is done in a design of interwoven hoops, alternating ropetwist texture with matte gold finish, with a cluster of forget-me-nots in the center. The flowers are done in blue and white enamel, in a little dome-shaped cluster. The pin has a simple old C style clasp. The pin comes in what is likely its original Shreve, Crump & Low Co retail box, with a card in the lid. Handwritten on the card: "Left by Miss Aurora Fuller. 'To Eugenia, daughter of Lawson & Olga Frothingham: My gold scroll breast pin with enamelled Forget-me-nots in the center. Her Great-aunt Ellen's gift to me."

The pin is in great overall condition. There are some losses to the blue enamel here and there. The gold has no breaks and no repairs.
The pin is not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14 karat gold.
The pin is about 1 1/8 inches in diameter.
The pin weighs 7.6 grams.
