Superb Art Nouveau French Bronze Gibson Girl Woman Bust Desk Stamp Wax Seal

Presented is an excellent quality antique figural bronze desk seal or stamp, in the form of the bust of a woman. This piece is done very much in the Art Nouveau style and dates to that time period, and is of continental European make, likely French. The bronze is very well cast, with a good level of detail for the woman's hair and face, and the holly leaves and berries that make up the 'plinth' of the bust. The woman is shown with her hair up, very Gibson Girl style. The bronze has a rich dark brown patina, making this a very stately addition to any desk or study. The seal portion on the bottom has never been engraved or monogrammed.

This piece is in excellent condition. There are no breaks, and no repairs.

The seal measures about 3 3/8 inches tall/long, and about 1 3/4 inches wide. -jm
