Presented is a stylish American sterling silver large platter or casserole spoon from the late 1800s to early 1900s. This piece displays a pointed end handle with a large shell decoration. The back of the handle has a notch that keeps the spoon from slipping into the bowl.
The reverse is marked sterling along with the maker's mark for Boston silversmiths Rand & Crane.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. The shell decoration is well-defined. There are no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs.
