Stunning VTG Opera Length 14k Yellow Gold Lapis Lazuli Beaded Necklace 37"

Presented is a stunning vintage lapis lazuli and 14 karat yellow gold bead necklace. The necklace consists of round beads of lapis lazuli about 10 millimeters in diameter, interspersed with 14 karat yellow gold beads of about 9 millimeters in diameter and smaller 14 karat gold rondelles. There are 15 of the larger gold beads and 48 of the smaller, so although most of the necklace's weight is in the stone there is a considerable amount of gold here. The lapis lazuli is exceptionally nice, a very rich dark blue full of speckles of gold. The necklace is quite a long length and can easily be worn doubled or at its full opera length. The necklace has a secure plunge style clasp done in 14 karat gold filigree.

This necklace is in great condition. The stone beads are all intact and in good shape. The 14 karat gold beads are all intact and none of them are crushed, but several have minor dents here and there, especially the larger gold beads. These imperfections are hard to notice without close inspection. The clasp functions well and closes securely.

This piece is stamped 14k on the tab of the clasp. We have tested the beads with nitric acid and guarantee them to be 14 karat gold as well.

The necklace is about 37 ¼ inches long, not including the tab of the clasp which does not contribute to the overall length when worn.

The necklace weighs 110 grams.
