Presented is an elegant coin silver large soup or punch ladle. This piece is in Gorham's Grecian pattern which was patented in 1861. The pattern displays a large palmette at the top of the handle and a firm rounded handle stem. There is a monogram on the back of the handle, MCP, in flowing script.
The ladle is marked Coin for .900 purity silver, along with the pattern's patent date.
This piece is in excellent condition. The pattern elements are crisp. The ladle has a firm weight. It is clean and ready for use. There are no breaks or splits, and no repairs.
