Stunning c1950s Platinum Diamond Spray Brooch Pin
Regular price
$1,195.00
Presented is a fabulous vintage platinum and diamond pin or brooch, dating to around the 1960s-1980s and made in America. The brooch is made in an elegant 'spray' type of design, like a stand of reeds or a stylized feather, set throughout its surface with 116 sparkling diamonds. The diamonds vary in size with the width of the individual sections of the brooch, with the smallest being maybe half a point each in weight and the largest about 1.5-2 points each. The diamonds are mostly single cuts with some larger full cuts, but all are good quality stones with a lot of life and fire, particularly in the platinum setting. The brooch has a capped pull-out safety clasp with a bayonet style closure mechanism, which is quite secure, with an extra prong to the shaft to add stability. The quality of the construction is very good, and the brooch has a very high end look, the photos don't do the piece justice.
This piece is in excellent condition. The diamonds are all intact and well set. The clasp functions well and closes securely.
This piece is stamped platinum, nitric acid tested and guaranteed.
The pin measures about 2 5/8 inches long.
This pin weighs 15 grams. -jm
