Spratling Sterling Silver Americas Friendship Handshake Pin Taxco Mexico Brooch

Presented is a rare, sterling silver pin or brooch made by William Spratling of
Taxco, Mexico during the early 1940s. This is a very interesting piece of
Spratling, and in the over 30 years of dealing with antiques, we have never seen
a piece of his in this unique style. The pin shows two hands in a tight
handshake over the Americas. The hands are highly raised. The back has a
replacement pin-clip but a classic pin-back can be added if so desired, or
perhaps even a bale/hoop for hanging the piece as a pendant. 

The pin measures by 1 1/4 by 1 5/8 inches and weighs 17 grams.
