Rare Watson Dorian Sterling Silver Salad Serving Set Art Deco Greek Revival
Regular price
$288.00
Presented is a lovely Watson sterling silver salad serving set, consisting of a spoon and fork. These pieces are made in the Dorian pattern, which began production in 1904. True to the time period, this is a sleek and stylish Art Deco pattern, with vertical fluted decoration reminiscent of a Doric column, very neo-Classical. The fork has nice pierced cut-out work above the tines as well. The servers are well made and of good heavy weight for their size. Although these pieces are great as a salad serving set, both servers can of course be used on their own for whatever serving purpose you like. This pattern isn't easy to find these days, and serving pieces seem particularly rare, so this is a great opportunity for any collector.
This set is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
Both pieces are stamped on the stem with the Watson maker's mark as well as sterling.
Both pieces measure about 9 inches long.
The total weight for the set is 171 grams or 6.0 regular ounces.
