Presented is a fine old Tiffany & Co sterling silver butter spreader or butter knife. This knife is made in the Broomcorn or Broom Corn pattern, which began production in 1890. This is a lovely nature inspired pattern very much in the Art Nouveau aesthetic of the time to which the pattern dates. This butter knife is a solid sterling silver piece, the blade is sterling and the handle as well, solid with no weighting/filling.

This piece is in great overall condition. There is some minor surface wear, commensurate with age and use. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

The stem is stamped with the Tiffany & Co maker's mark as well as the patent date of the patent date of 1890. These stamps are somewhat worn with polishing, but are more legible in person than the photos show.

This piece measures about 5 7/8 inches long. The knife weighs 25 grams. -jm
