Presented is a wonderful set of 11 antique Gorham sterling silver demitasse spoons. These spoons are made in the Florentine or Florenz pattern, which began production in 1901. This is a lovely classical pattern featuring foliate scrollwork and clusters of fruit surrounding a 'Green Man' type face mask at the terminal of the handle. The spoons have a cartouche to the front of the handle, none of which have ever been monogrammed.
This set of spoons is in great condition. The details of the pattern are nice and crisp. The gold wash is in great shape. One spoon, seen on the far right in the first photo, has a little bit of a ding to the side of the bowl, but it is still completely useable. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
Each piece is stamped sterling as well as the maker's mark for Gorham and the patent date of the pattern, 1901.
Each spoon measures about 4 1/4 inches long.
This total weight for the set is 160.5 grams or 5.7 regular ounces. -jm
