Presented is a wonderful quality antique cut glass bowl dating to the late 1800s or very early 1900s. This bowl is likely American Brilliant Period work from one of the well known makers like Hawkes, Hoare, Tuthill, or Dorflinger, but it may be English instead, from a maker like Thomas Webb or Stevens & Williams. The bowl is beautifully and intricately cut throughout with with a design of daisies or perhaps sunflowers alternating with a narrower flower, complete with stems and leaves. The stems trail down onto the underside of the bowl where they interweave into a star design, really a fabulous touch of detail that you don't see every day. The quality of the decoration is truly exceptional, all incredibly detailed and well done. The bowl is a good large useable size, great as a centerpiece bowl, a fruit bowl, or however else you like.

This piece is in excellent overall condition. One tooth has a chip to its tip, and some others have some fretting/fleabites here and there but overall there is nothing noticeable without close, careful inspection in good light. Minor shelf wear to the underside. No other chips, no cracks, no repairs, no sickness or clouding to the glass.

The dish measures about 8 1/4 inches in diameter and stands about 3 5/8 inches tall at the rim. -jm
