Rare Gorham Sterling Silver Lancaster Rose Toast / Bread Serving Fork
Regular price
$280.80
Presented is a fabulous Gorham sterling silver serving fork. This piece is made in the popular Lancaster or Lancaster Rose pattern, which began production in 1897. This is a lovely pattern featuring designs of roses in detailed relief on the end of the handle, with a beaded design around the sides. The fork has three large widely spaced tines, with nice pierced work above in the design of a rose. The handle has a monogram of GWP in script. This piece we believe was made as a toast fork or bread fork, but it is a versatile design that can be used for a variety of serving purposes.
This piece is in great condition. The details of the pattern are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is stamped with the Gorham maker's mark as well as sterling.
The fork is about 8 1/2 inches long.
This piece weighs 64 grams or 2.3 regular ounces.
