Presented is a lovely antique Teplitz pitcher by Eduard Stellmacher, dating to the early 1900s. The pitcher is done in a beautiful green glaze, with brown and blue around the bottom. Around the side is a nicely detailed hand painted lion, with a stylized eye motif off center on the opposite side. This piece came to use with a little handwritten note that includes detailed about the decorator, Eduard Stellmacher, whose father was Alfred Stellmacher (founder of Turn porcelain factory Reissner, Stellmacher & Kessel) but who left Amphora to start his own firm in 1904.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The underside is signed Stellmacher Potterie, Teplitz, and 2116 / 2.
The pitcher stands about 5 5/8 inches tall and measures about 5 1/2 inches from handle to spout, or about 4 1/2 inches in diameter across the body.
