Rare Colonial American 1770s Coin Silver Primitive Hand Engravinged Tongs
Presented is an antique pair of American Colonial coin silver sugar cube tongs made during the late 18th century. These tongs were made around the 1770s or possibly the 1780s. The tongs are nicely hand engraved with decoration and an un-engraved cartouche at the top.
Guaranteed to be 900 purity silver.
This piece is in great overall condition for its age and the engravings are crisp. There is an old solder repair to the top of the tongs, but this is mostly visible on the inside, which you can see in the first photograph.
Length: 5 3/8 inches.
Weight: 30 grams or 1 ounce.
