$1,440.00
Presented is a wonderful antique Masonic 14 karat gold fob or pendant. This piece dates to around the 1890s. The front of the fob has the cross and crown symbol in red and black enamel with the crown done in white gold or platinum, with crossed swords behind, all against a Templar cross pattee with fine engraved detailing. Around the side is the motto 'In Hoc Signo Vinces' or "In this sign, you will conquer." The cross, crown, and sword part lifts up and the two side arms and bottom of the cross pattee fold outward to reveal a cross in translucent red enamel beneath, with a white rose and green leaves in the center. Above is a black enamel triangle with the 32 degree, which is repeated in black and white enamel on the left foldout. The right has a Hebrew letter against black and white enamel, and the bottom flap has the Masonic compass and square against blue enamel. The back of the fob has a double headed eagle with the 32 degree on its chest and the motto “Spes Mea In Deo Est” or 'My hope is in God.” As with the front, the eagle lifts up, revealing a cross in red and black enamel, with the Masonic keystone symbol in the center, bearing the initials H. T. W. S. S. T. K. S. This is easily one of the best quality Masonic fobs we have ever seen, with incredible attention to detail and superb construction for all the little hinged sections and how they fit together. The decoration is all hand engraved and is quite detailed and crisp, and pretty much every surface is adorned with enamel or engraving.
This piece is in excellent condition. The enamel is all intact and in good shape. The hinged portions all move smoothly. There are no breaks and no repairs.
This piece is stamped and guaranteed 14k on the side with the eagle, beneath the black triangle, as well as a stamp reading 'Pat. Appl'd For.”
The fob is about 1 1/2 inches long, including the loop/bail at the top, and measures about 3/4 of an inch wide.
This piece weighs 14.9 grams.
