Presented is an enormous Wood & Hughes serving fork in the rare Celestial pattern. This fork is simply huge! It measures 11 1/2 inches long, and would be very useful in serving sliced meat or heavier sliced vegetables, like squash or whole potatoes. This pattern was first produced in 1870 and did not have a long production run. Consequently all pieces in this pattern were made within a decades or two of the original production date. The fork has never been monogrammed.
The piece is marked on the reverse with STERLING and W & H for Wood and Hughes.
The condition is excellent. The pattern is very good shape, with only a small amount of wear to the high points. Please view the closeup photos for an accurate representation. There are no breaks, no cracks, no splits, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The fork measures 11 1/2 inches long. Quite large!
The weight is 106.0 grams or 3.74 ounces.
