Presented is an antique 14 karat gold and enamel pin for the Chi Phi fraternity. This pin dates to the late 1800s or very early 1900s and was made by Tiffany & Co. Most Chi Phi pins available for sale online are in a lower karat of gold, or just gold plated, so the higher karat and well known maker make this an unusual, highly collectible piece. The pin is in the form of a Greek letter chi, adorned with blue and red enamel and fine foliate decoration, against a plain Greek letter phi with a simple matte finish. The back has an old C style clasp, as well as a little safety yoke that you fold up when the pin is fastened, keeping the shaft secure in the C. This pin is stamped 14k, nitric acid tested and guaranteed, as well as Tiffany & Co and a number 7515.
This piece is in excellent condition. The enamel is intact and in great shape. The clasp functions well and closes securely.
