Presented is a rare Fulham pottery bust of a man, from the 1700s. The pottery has a rich brown glaze with a very high sheen, and is nicely detailed. The man is depicted wearing a military type sash and a medal, with the medal repeated on the plinth of the bust. His hair is pulled back in a tail and he is wearing a neck stock, and has the look of an important 18th century historical figure akin to George Washington, we just don't recognize him. If anyone has any information to share, please feel free to contact us.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
The bust itself is unsigned, but the interior of the base has an old paper label reading “Fulham Pottery, 18th C.”
The bust stands about 9 5/8 inches tall and measures about 5 by 4 inches. -jm
