Quality Pair Victorian English Sterling Silver Serving Spoons Grapevine 1892
Regular price
$487.00
Presented is a fine pair of Victorian English sterling silver serving spoons. The spoons date to 1892. These spoons feature designs of grapes and grape leaves on the shaft and terminal, front and back. The reverse of the handles have both been monogrammed with 'M' in gothic script. These are well-constructed spoons, made from very heavy silver, and have stood the test of time remarkably well.
Each spoon is hallmarked on the stem with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, the date letter R for 1892, and the maker's mark for John Aldwinckle and Thomas Slater.
This pair of spoons is in excellent condition. The details of the pattern are quite crisp. There is some slight surface wear, commensurate with age and use, as the spoons have not been buffed to a high finish. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
Each spoon is approximately 9 inches long.
Both spoons together weigh 191 grams or 6.7 ounces.
