Presented is a gorgeous 18K yellow gold, diamond, ruby, emerald and sapphire pin. The gold setting has a lovely openwork design with a nicely textured finish. I believe the design is intended to look like a butterfly. There are four diamonds, four rubies, two emeralds, and two sapphires prong set at the center. The stones are nice quality. The pin stem on the reverse is done in 14K gold. The pin is fairly modern.
The pin is marked 18K on the reverse and 14K on the clasp. Everything on this pin is 18 karat gold except for the clasp and the pin stem. It is not unusual to find pins that have these parts in a different karat gold. We have tested the pin with nitric acid and guarantee the pin stem and clasp to be 14K gold and the rest to be 18K gold.
The condition is excellent. The stones are securely prong set. There are no chips, no cracks, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The pin measures 1 inch by 1 5/8 inches.
The weight is 10.9 grams.
