Pair 1855 Russian Gilt Silver Meat or Potato Forks KF Malcz Fleur de Lis Crest
Regular price
$358.00
Presented is an antique pair of Russian silver meat, roast forks or baked potato forks made in 1855. This mid 19th century set is done in a classic knot pattern and each fork has a deep gold wash. The back of each handle has a hand engraved, crowned crest of a Fleur-de-lis.
The back of each handle bears the Russian Kokoshnik mark for 84/96 or 875 purity silver, a city mark, a maker's mark and one has an assayer's mark with the date 1855. The maker appears to be Malcz.
This pair is in great overall condition, especially considering the old age. There is some wear to the gilding on some of the high points, but there are no damages and no repairs.
Length: 8 3/8 inches.
Weight: 177 grams.
