Presented is a fantastic set of 12 antique Minton plates, in a size suitable for use as luncheon, salad, or even large dessert plates. The plates are done in cream with white centers and very intricately decorated gilt rims. The gilding is done in raised bright finish gold as well as matte finish gold, giving the plates a very sumptuous look with a lot of textural and visual appeal. The quality of the decoration is exceptional, as are the plates themselves.
This set is in excellent condition. The gilding is in great shape. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
Each plate is stamped with the Minton mark on the reverse, inside a border for the St. Louis Glass & Queensware Co.
Each plate measures about 8 7/8 inches in diameter. -jm
