Ornate c1900 Southeast Asian Hand Chased Scrollwork Teapot No Mono 4 3/4" Tall
Regular price
$809.00
Presented is an ornate southeast Asian teapot from the late 1800s to early 1900s. This piece is elaborately decorated with hand chased and engraved floral and foliate scrollwork, against a stippled and oxidized background so the details of the intricate designs really pop. The decoration is extensive, covering just about the entirety of the surface of the pot. The teapot has a high angular handle and graceful S-curved spout.
The underside is marked T.90, likely for .900 purity silver.
This piece is in great overall condition. The teapot has some solder repairs near the base of the handle and around the spout. There's also solder marks around the pattern. Most of these solder marks are hard to notice without close, careful inspection, due to how busy the pattern is.
Measurements: 8 7/8 inches from spout to handle, 4 1/2 inches wide, 4 3/4 inches tall
Weight: 577 grams or 20.3 ounces -kc
