Presented is an interesting Norwegian silver beaker style cup, bearing the crest for a Norwegian horseracing association, the Det Norske Travselskap. The crest is nicely detailed and decorated with rich blue enamel. Curiously, the cup has never been engraved with a presentation for any race winner or commemorating any even.
The underside is stamped with the maker's mark for N.M. Thune as well as 830 S for 830 purity silver, the Norwegian standard.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are no dents, no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The cup measures about 7 inches tall at the rim, or about 4 inches in diameter at the base.
The cup weighs 223.6 grams, or 7.9 regular ounces. -jm
