Presented is a lovely sapphire and 14 karat gold ring. This is an Austrian made piece, from around the 1950s. The ring is set with a beautiful deep blue sapphire, in a round, faceted cut. This is a from-the-ground, not lab created or man made stone of about 1.5 carats in weight. The ring has openwork around the stone, with fine texturing. The bezel setting of the ring is rose gold, with rose gold leaves or spearpoints on the shoulders of the band, which is done in yellow gold. The ring has a neat retro design, very distinctive.
This piece is in great condition. There are no breaks and no repairs.
The interior of the band is stamped 585 for 14 karat gold. There is also a modern Austrian hallmark of a bird's head in an oval punch, as well as a maker's mark of 'SF' we unfortunately do not recognize.
The ring is a size 7.
