Presented is a wonderful quality pair of antique miniature portraits in black veneer wooden frames. The portraits date to the first quarter of the 1800s and are likely English. Both portraits are fabulously hand painted, one depicting a woman in blue with a feathered hat and the other depicting a man with a ruffled cravat and brown coat. The portraits have been mounted on paper and are set in wide black frames, with loops on the back for hanging.
The portraits themselves are in excellent condition. The frames are in good shape, but there are a couple of nicks and small losses to the black finish of the wood, particularly at the corners.
Each frame measures about 4 x 4 1/4 inches.
