Presented is a nice set of four James Robinson sterling silver forks. These forks are all in the classic Irish Rib pattern, which features a distinctive downward turn to the ends of the handles and a pronounced rib or ridge along the back of the handles. Two of the forks are fish or salad type forks, with one tine shaped differently from the rest, while the other two are a larger size and have four equal tines.
Each fork is stamped with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, the maker's mark JR for James Robinson, James Robinson England, and a date letter. The two fish forks or salad forks have the date letter H for 1982. The larger forks each have a different date letter, one has n for 1968, while the other has L for 1985.
This group is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The two salad or fish forks are about 6 1/2 inches long. The larger forks are about 6 7/8 inches long.
The total weight for the set is 187 grams or 6.6 regular ounces. -jm
