Nice Alvin 36pc Chateau Rose Flatware Set Service for 6
Presented is a lovely Alvin sterling silver 36 piece flatware set. This set is made in the beautiful Chateau Rose pattern, which began production in 1940. As the name suggests, this pattern features an elegant design of roses on the handles. This set provides 5-piece place settings for six, with an extra soup spoon and a handful of serving utensils. The knives have silver plated steel blades, in the New French form.
The set consists of:
- 6 knives--8 3/4 inches long.
- 6 forks--7 1/4 inches long.
- 6 salad forks--6 1/2 inches long.
- 7 round soup spoons--6 1/4 inches long.
- 6 teaspoons--5 7/8 inches long.
- 3 serving spoons 8 3/8 inches long.
- 1 gravy/sauce ladle-6 inches long.
- 1 jelly/sugar serving spoon--6 inches long.
This set is in great condition. The details of the pattern are nice and crisp. The silver plating on the blades of the knives is in great shape. The dinner forks have only the most minor of knife wear to the backs of the tines, they look almost unused. There are no splits, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs. The set comes in a new wooden storage chest as seen in the final photo, as a free bonus gift to you. If you do not want this chest, please let us know and we will not ship it.
Each non-knife piece is stamped with the Alvin maker's mark, sterling, and patent, as well as the name of the pattern, Chateau Rose. Five of the knives are marked indicating that their blades are silver plated steel, while the sixth knife has a stainless blade marked as such. The knife handles are tested and guaranteed sterling silver.
The total weight for the set, not including the knives because of their steel blades, is 1154 grams, or 40.7 regular ounces.
