Presented is a charming 14K gold and carved shell cameo brooch or pin. The pin is bezel set with a lovely carved shell cameo depicting a woman in profile. The cameo is set in an elegant 14K yellow gold frame with delicate filigree work around the edges. The pin has a hinged bale on the reverse so that it can also be worn as a pendant. This piece was made in the United States, in the 1940s or the 1950s.
The pin is marked on the reverse with 14K and a maker’s mark of WEB. We have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14K gold.
The condition is excellent. There are no dents, no splits, no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
The pin measures 1 inch by 1 1/4 inches.
The weight is 7.2 grams.
