Neat Pair Vintage 14k Gold Arrowhead Earrings
Presented is a fabulous pair of 14 karat gold arrowhead earrings. These are American earrings, dating to around the 1960s-1980s. Each earring consists of an arrowhead, hanging from a flattened round bead stud. The arrowheads are done
with a hammered, textured finish, like real arrowheads knocked from flint or obsidian, with deep notches as though they would really be mounted to an arrow shaft. The gold finish has some oxidation for an antique feel. The earrings have threaded screw style backs, suitable for wear with pierced or unpierced ears. A jeweler could easily convert these to post style backs for pierced ears, if the buyer wishes, or they could be converted to earring jackets for pearl or gemstone studs.
The earrings are in great condition. The screwbacks function well and will hold the earrings on securely. The arrowheads have some oxidation which we have left intact as we think it suits the look and tribal style of the earrings, but they could easily be polished to a bright finish. There are no breaks and no repairs.
Each earring is stamped 14k on the back of the screwback, as well as a maker's mark of F inside a circle. Each earring is also stamped on the arrowhead itself with 97, 2, and R.
Each earring is about 1 1/4 inches long.
The total weight for the pair is 6 grams.
